Dominican tennis players Roberto Cid and Peter Bertran won again in the World Group III of the Davis Cup, which gives three places to the Play-offs of the World Group II 2025.
The tournament is being played at the International Tennis Club of Asuncion, Paraguay. On Monday, the Dominican Republic won its series 3-0 against Bermuda, while on Tuesday it did the same against Guatemala, 2-1.
In the first match, Bertran won 6-0 6-1 over Kris Hernandez, in a duel that took only one hour and nine minutes.
In doubles, Alejandro Gandini and Enmanuel Muñoz were defeated by Juan Domínguez and Kento Tagashira. The match ended with a score of 6-3 3-6 and 10-5, in one hour and 16 minutes.
The Quintana Roo players will play this Wednesday against Puerto Rico.
The Creoles are 2-0, Jamaica has the same record; Guatemala 0-2, Puerto Rico and Bermuda 0-1, all that in Group B.
The tournament has a four-team group (Group A) and a five-team group (Group B). The two teams finishing first in each group will move up with the nation finishing third.
The nation finishing last in Group B will be relegated with the nation finishing eighth.
Three promotions; two relegations have the event.
