Fedogolf visits facilities at Vistas Golf & Country Club

They discussed joint plans to continue developing golf in the country.

The board of directors of the Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf), headed by its president Carlos Elmúdesi, visited the facilities of Vistas Golf & Country Club on Friday, July 8.

The Fedogolf board was received by the president of Vistas Golf & Country Club, Marcos Malespín, along with its directors.

During the visit, a tour of the facilities of the new social club located on the Circunvalación de Santo Domingo, which was inaugurated on April 26 in a ceremony led by President Luis Abinader, was conducted, and the directors of Fedogolf were able to see the Vistas golf course, which is the newest in the country and in the entire Caribbean area.

Vistas Golf & Country Club has the only Signature golf course in the city of Santo Domingo, designed by PGA professional golfer, Australian Greg Norman, with the highest quality standards, built with equipment and materials certified by the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA).

During the meeting, Malespín said he was honored to receive the Fedogolf board and expressed his interest in continuing to invest in the development of golf as the sport with the greatest impact on the arrival of tourism to the Dominican Republic.

“We have developed an agreement with the hotels in Santo Domingo so that they can offer our club and our golf course to their guests and clients, also with the support of Asonahores, because we have to continue strengthening the development of tourism and the sport in our country,” said Malespín.

For his part, the president of Fedogolf, Carlos Elmúdesi, thanked Malespín for his invitation and welcomed the initiatives that were discussed in an effort to continue strengthening the sport.

“We salute the investment and the quality of the construction of this club and its extraordinary golf course. We are pleased with this good meeting and very excited to be able to support as Fedogolf the initiatives that have been discussed in an effort to strengthen the development of golf as a sport in the Dominican Republic,” said Elmúdesi.

In addition to Elmúdesi, members of Fedogolf’s board of directors, Robert Guerra, Cuqui Torres, Franchesca Páez, Federico Lebrón, Andrés Dilonex, Leo Sánchez, Juan Sang and Enrique Rodríguez were present at the meeting. Also present was the Vice Minister of Sports, Franklin de la Mota.
