Felix Sanchez says this will be the “Most Successful” Olympic delegation in national history

Two-time Dominican Olympic champion, Felix Sanchez, said that the delegation that will represent the country in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics could be the “best” in national history.

“In addition to our largest delegation, I dare say that this will be the most successful delegation in the entire Dominican history so I hope it returns with many medals,” exclaimed Sanchez at the end of an activity in which President Luis Abinader presented the Dominican flag to the national delegation that will represent the country in Tokyo starting next July 23.

Sanchez, who won the first Olympic gold for the Dominican Republic in Athens 2004 and won another gold medal in London 2012 in the 400 meters hurdles, believes that the whole country should pay attention to the performances of Dominican athletes and support them.

“Sport is what unites us all, regardless of social class, regardless of the political situation, we are Dominicans and the important thing is that these guys have given their all, not for four years but for five years with everything and pandemic and that has to fill us with pride,” added Sanchez.

The former athlete has been working for four years now with the Dominican athletics team in all categories.
