Francisco was fifth in the Dominican Republic

Francisco Lara Carabajal was the best classified in the Pan American Cycling Championship held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the athlete from Orizabita, municipality of Ixmiquilpan was classified in fifth place overall.

The athlete from Valle del Mezquital made a smart race, as he had to make a great effort since his teammates were relegated from the main group.

Lara Carbajal was in fifth place, followed by his compatriots Orlando Garibay in 17th place and Ignacio Prado in 60th place, after completing the 160 kilometers of the race.

The place of honor went to the Colombian Nelson Soto with a time of 3:38.00 hours, second place went to the Ecuadorian Cristian Pita and his compatriot Sebastián Novoa with the same time.

A great merit for the cyclist from Hidalgo who at the beginning of the year 2021 had to undergo surgery for a broken collarbone he suffered while participating in a competition coordinated by the Hidalgo Association of this sport, led by Antonio Silva.

Thanks to timely medical attention and good rehabilitation, Lara Carbajal was able to get back on the bike to resume his competitive level and represent Mexico in the Pan American Championship.

The athlete dominates the modalities of mountain, track, but has had better dividends in the route, with experience in international competitions.
