Exporters resume with this XVI edition, the traditional sporting event, in one of the most magnificent facilities in the world of golf, which has the so-called “the devil’s elbow”, which is played around a narrow bay with cliff edges facing the Caribbean Sea.
With great expectations, 112 players will compete in front of the Caribbean Sea, next August 21, in the XVI ADOEXPO 2021 Golf Tournament organized by the Dominican Association of Exporters (ADOEXPO), in the facilities of the Corales Golf Club, of the Punta Cana Resort & Club complex.
In a meeting with the media held at the Hotel Intercontinental Real Santo Domingo, headed by Elizabeth Mena, president; José Mella, director and Odile Miniño Bogaert, executive vice-president, it was informed that the competition will begin at 8 am, with all the health safety protocols.
This tournament will have more than a hundred enthusiastic golfers who will bet on the best positions, which as in previous years will be in categories “A”, “B” and “C”, under the scramble modality in pairs.
Business leader José Mella said that in addition to the top three places, special prizes will be awarded for the longest drive and the closest shot to the flag.
He also said that as is customary in this competition, after the contest there will be a trophy ceremony, multiple raffles and gifts at the end of the event, courtesy of sponsors and ADOEXPO.
About the impressive golf course
Los Corales Golf Club was designed in 2010 by international specialist Tom Fazio, is located off the coast of the Caribbean Sea, and is the second course for the practice of this sport, located within the Punta Cana Resort & Club complex.
It is made up of 18 holes, 6 of which are on the cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea, making these facilities unique and among the favorites of golfers who visit the Dominican Republic every year.
The last three holes of the Corales Golf Club are called “The Devil’s Elbow”, because they are one of the most magnificent finishes in the world of golf, culminating with the striking 18th hole which is shaped like a “U” and plays around a narrow bay with cliff edges.
It has a par of 72, with a distance of 7,650 yd, slope of 140 and rating of 76.9.
