The Government, through the Ministry of Sports, and in coordination with the Dominican Olympic Committee, is preparing a big event to welcome the Dominican medalists in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Runner Marileidy Paulino, gold medal winner in the 400 meters flat, as well as boxers Cristian Pinales and Yunior Alcantara, will arrive in the country through the Las Americas International Airport, where they will be received by sports and Olympic authorities to the rhythm of merengue and other genres that identify Dominican culture.
“They are our sports heroes and will be received as they deserve”, declared the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, who has been in this city for several days, giving support to the Dominican delegation.
The arrival of Marileidy, Cristian and Yunior is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. this Sunday on an Air Europa flight.
On behalf of the Ministry of Sports, Vice Minister Franklin De la Mota is coordinating the reception.
“I can only advance that we are preparing a great recognition, by instructions of President Luis Abinader and Minister Francisco Camacho,” said De la Mota.
Until this Saturday, the Republic accumulated three medals, one gold and two bronzes, in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The closing ceremony of the most important multisport event in the world is scheduled for Sunday.
Miguel Camacho, head of the Dominican delegation, was making efforts to bring forward his return to the country in order to accompany the Dominican medalists.
