Yunior Alcántara, one step away from a medal in Paris 2024

Alcantara will seek this Friday to secure the bronze medal when he faces Rafael Lozano Serrano, from Spain, in the quarterfinals at 4:30 in the afternoon (10:50 am, DR time).

Cordovan boxer Rafael Lozano Serrano, known as ‘Balin’, advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Australian rival Yusuf Chothia (seeded fifth) 4-1 in the men’s flyweight category in the round of 16.

At the age of 19, Lozano Serrano has won a bronze medal at the 2024 European Amateur Boxing Championships, at flyweight. In the youth category he won a bronze medal at the 2020 World Junior Championships and a gold medal at the 2021 European Junior Championships.
