The ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Andy Rodríguez Durán, met with the secretary general of the Digital Cooperation Organization, Deemah AlYahya, who discussed the alignment between the objectives of the country and that institution, particularly in digital innovation, improvement of digital skills and entrepreneurship.
The diplomat said that they held a constructive dialogue. The same to explore areas of cooperation such as supporting the digital transformation and sustainable economic growth of the Dominican Republic.
AlYahya pondered that the Dominican Digital Agenda and the commitment to boost its digital economy through technological development and entrepreneurship are in line with the objectives of that organization to promote it globally integrated. He also extended an invitation for the country to become a member of this international body.
The Digital Cooperation Organization, based in the Saudi capital Riyadh, is the first independent international entity focused on the digital economy. It also comprises governments from 16 countries representing around $3.5 trillion in GDP. Plus a market of nearly 800 million people.
