For the first time a Dominican heads Claro in the country

Grupo América Móvil announced that as of December 1st of this year, Carlos José Cueto Stefani will be the new general director and CEO appointed to lead the operation in the Dominican Republic, replacing engineer Rogelio Viesca Arrache.

Cueto is the first Dominican to lead Claro’s operations in the country and has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

At Claro, he has held several successful positions in the areas of Marketing, Product Development, Sales and International Business. Until his appointment, he was Vice President of Solutions Management and Development, Interconnection and International Services.

Engineer Viesca will assume new responsibilities leading a strategic project of the corporation in Mexico, in recognition of the excellent work done in Claro Dominicana since his arrival in the country in September 2018. This promotion represents an important step in his career of almost 30 years in the group, where he has held leadership positions in different countries in the region.

About Carlos Cueto
He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Lynn University, in Florida, United States. He has completed post graduate studies in Finance and Marketing at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. Among other specializations, he has completed executive programs at prestigious academic institutions, such as the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in the United States.
