The Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism, ASONAHORES, announced the twenty-third edition of the traditional fair “Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange”, DATE, to be held April 26-28, at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, Punta Cana.
DATE is the most important tourism promotion fair for the Dominican Republic product in the country and the Caribbean.
Andrés Marranzini, executive vice-president of ASONAHORES, explained that DATE is the scenario where the main issuing markets of the industry meet with the hotel sector and the local complementary offer. He also pointed out that the event focuses on promoting the Dominican tourism product to increase the flow of tourists, and in this way, continue to contribute to the recovery of the national economy.
“DATE is one of several events held by ASONAHORES, which reiterates the great commitment we have to contribute to the growth of tourism and the development of the Dominican economy. We promote the country as a key tourist destination in the entire region, while at the same time promoting expansion and investment in the sector, both domestic and foreign,” said Marranzini.
He also informed that DATE 2023 will have a greater participation than in previous versions, where important national and international hotel chains have already been integrated and will be present for the first time. “We have integrated new actors in the dynamics of execution of activities that, together with the headquarters, our friends of the Barceló Group, we will offer an ideal space for the meetings to be scheduled,” he said.
He explained that this increase corresponds to the joint effort between sectors, where from the Ministry of Tourism, actions are articulated with the tourism promotion offices aimed at the participation of the different markets and the international projection of the country.
DATE has scheduled business rounds, press conferences and focused activities, including the Dominican night, to be held on April 27 at Katmandu Punta Cana, a recently opened theme park.
