David Collado starts work on Macao Beach with an investment of 53 million pesos

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, gave on Wednesday the first kick-off for the construction of the access road and parking at Macao Beach, which will have an investment of more than 53 million pesos.

Through this work, which is part of the integral reordering project of Playa Macao, 104 vehicle parking lots will be built, as well as an area for motorcycles and buses.

“Today I am here giving this first kick for the reconstruction of the access road and parking lot of Macao Beach, first attending to an old claim of this province and secondly fulfilling the promise I made months ago,” said Minister Collado.

He affirmed that this work will guarantee that more tourists will visit Macao beach, generating, in turn, a greater economic activity for the small merchants of the place.

“The greatest significance of this work, which we are starting today, is the economic spillover that it will leave among the small merchants of this beautiful beach of Macao. I have always said that tourism has a face,” said the official in his speech.

The refurbishment plan is zoned in such a way that, through specific interventions, an organized ecosystem is achieved for a more efficient operation of the businesses established there and greater security for the more than 200 thousand visitors who enjoy Macao Beach every year.

The activity was attended by the main provincial authorities and representatives of the sector, headed by Rafael Blanco and Paola Rainieri, president and former president of the National Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES), respectively.
