Dominican Republic extends free health insurance for tourists for another month

In order to continue benefiting the Dominican Republic’s Tourism Recovery Plan proposed by the Dominican Government, Seguros Reservas, with the support of Banco de Reservas, has extended for the fourth month the validity of the DR Safe Tourism Plan at no cost.

This plan was designed so that tourists visiting the country as a hotel destination, obtain significant and timely support for the enjoyment of their vacations. This fourth stage will run from May 12 to June 12, 2021.

The intention of this plan has been from the beginning, to minimize the effects of the pandemic and promote a responsible recovery that prioritizes health, maximizes the potential for job creation, economic growth and promotes the continued sustainable development of the sector.

Seguros Reservas has at its disposal a web access where the registration will be simultaneous and will allow a greater control of the affiliates’ data. In addition, tourists will receive their membership by mail.

The Dominican Republic is the only tourist destination in the world that guarantees that all tourists arriving in the country by air and staying in a hotel will be granted an assistance plan with coverage for medical emergencies, including covid-19, medicines in hospitalization assistance, emergency medical transportation, hotel expenses for hospitalization, expenses for flight changes due to medical emergencies and legal assistance, among other coverage.

With this innovative Safe Tourism Plan, product of the effort between the Ministry of Tourism, Seguros Reservas and Banco de Reservas, reiterates its commitment and responsibility to promote the recovery of tourism in the Dominican Republic.
