Dominican Republic wants to close the year with 5M tourists

David Collado, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, has highlighted that due to the recovery of the sector, the country will end this year with around 5 million tourists.

Minister Collado said that his country expects to receive some 650,000 tourists in December, while in November this figure could exceed 573,000.

For the minister, the first month of 2022 already manages very similar forecast figures to those of January 2018, considered the best month for tourism in the Dominican Republic.

In addition, he advanced to the local press that the hotels in the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo, boasts an occupancy of up to 100%, stressing that ‘the data we have are surprising’.
