Expoturismo 2023 is inaugurated in Santiago

Ramon Paulino, president of Expoturismo, announced a contribution from the Ministry of Tourism of 30 million pesos for the promotion and development of Santiago.

With the presence of the president of the Senate of the Republic, Eduardo Estrella and the main actors of the tourism sector of the Dominican Republic, the twenty-sixth edition of the most important fair of the tourism industry to be held in the northern zone, Expoturismo 2023, was inaugurated.

Using the Hodelpa Gran Almirante Convention Center as a venue, ExpoTurismo brings together hoteliers, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, travel agencies, travel insurance and other tourism service companies, offering special vacation rates until Sunday the 4th.
During the opening night of the event, which aims to strengthen and promote national tourism, three entities that have been vital to the country’s tourism development were recognized: the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), the Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), and the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Santiago.

The general director of Expoturismo Santiago, Yomaris Gómez, affirmed that this edition consolidates the commitment of this fair with the diversification of the tourist offer both with a focus on the local and international market.

“We are facing a consolidated event of sustained growth, where the entire tourism sector is offered the perfect platform and scenario for the launch and presentation of its products, routes and circuits, with the guarantee of an audience of the highest professional level and visitors with real purchase intentions,” said Gomez.

The president of the fair, Ramón Paulino, highlighted the great interest shown in this activity by the main leaders of the tourism industry. As well as the national press, of which more than ninety-five media have been accredited to cover the events of this new edition.

Paulino announced that the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, will deliver 30 million pesos for the promotion and development of tourism in Santiago.
