First Marriott AC in the DR ready to open in Punta Cana

AC Hotels by Marriott has opened its first hotel in the Dominican Republic, the AC Punta Cana by Marriott. The contemporary-inspired urban establishment, in the center of the country’s most important tourist area and one of the most visited destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, will have 129 rooms, including 2 suites, all distributed over four levels.

The hotel, located 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, close to the San Juan shopping center, considered the Downtown area, due to its proximity to key leisure and service establishments, will be marked by Marriott International’s design and will feature different open and multifunctional spaces, to meet the different needs of travelers arriving in the country, around 2.9 million between January and August of this year alone, and who want to stay in Punta Cana.

“Our location offers visitors, carefully designed spaces, modern rooms and refined gastronomy, creating an ideal environment to become a reference in Punta Cana and throughout the country,” said Yamil Montes de Oca, General Manager of the Hotel.

The new AC Punta Cana hotel by Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel chain, embodies the AC Hotels brand’s proposal to combine business and leisure in the same trip, known as the “Bleisure traveler”. Therefore, its design is conceived from the functionality and comfort, but also putting in value the culture and history of the Dominican Republic, through a perspective of urban luxury.

“We have included subtle nods to Caribbean nature and culture, including its craftsmanship through ropes, ceramics and ornaments, as well as the use of local products such as coffee. In addition, there will be a very present Creole atmosphere that will be reflected in the music and events with local artists,” he added.

The brand’s offer includes a Food and Beverage program, the Spanish-inspired AC Kitchen, which will be open for breakfast, dinner and brunch on weekends. In addition, guests will have the AC Lounge, a space with a contemporary design with a sophisticated ambiance, yet simple in its natural tones, richly textured finishes and local ornamental pieces.

“This area will offer a menu with an interesting variety of tapas, as well as a cocktail menu, including our exclusive AC Gin Tonic, and an extensive wine list, which can also be enjoyed on the terrace or in our infinity pool,” said the manager of the new hotel.

To cover the corporate and business offerings, the AC Punta Cana hotel will have a flexible space of more than 700 square feet for events and 2 smaller meeting rooms for strategic work sessions. In addition, there will be a 3,480 sq. ft. outdoor garden. The hotel completes its services with the AC Library, an open-plan space designed for individual or group work to study, think and connect with the most creative ideas.
