Following the closure of Viva’s operations and the complicated situation of Ultra Air, more airlines are announcing new plans in Colombia.
This time it was the low cost airline based in the Dominican Republic, Arajet, which announced a new frequency for Antioquians to connect directly with Santiago de los Caballeros, in that country.
The company will operate the route Medellín (from José María Córdova airport, in Rionegro) – Santiago, starting July 17, with two weekly frequencies.
Flights will depart on Mondays and Thursdays, with an offer of 740 seats per week.
According to reports, they will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 family aircrafts, which have a capacity for 185 passengers.
The announcement is added to that of brands such as JetSmart or Edelweiss, which also aim at strengthening domestic connectivity in the country.
