Dominican airline now flies to Guatemala

The president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, officially receives the first flight of Arajet, the new Dominican airline.

The president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, officially received the first flight of Arajet, the new Dominican low cost airline, which will connect this country directly with the Dominican Republic as of September 28th.

The announcement was made at the Guatemalan government house where the president met with the executive president of the Dominican airline, Victor Pacheco, who informed that initially the route will be served with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and that in the near future it could be increased.

“We are very excited to be able to land in Guatemala, and very honored to be received by President Giammattei, who along with his team have been key to make the direct connection between our countries a reality and allow millions of Dominicans and foreigners to enjoy the cultural and natural wealth that Guatemala has, and likewise that millions of Guatemalans can travel for the first time in direct flights of less than three hours, non-stop and at low prices to our beautiful Dominican Republic,” said Pacheco.

He informed that Guatemala City is currently Arajet’s fourth best-selling destination.

What is Arajet?

Arajet is an ultra low-cost Dominican airline. It is based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Operations are scheduled to begin on September 15, 2022, with routes to Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, and other Caribbean islands.

Dominican Republic Week

Dominican Republic Week will be held August 29-31, in Guatemala City, during which events and meetings will be held to strengthen ties between the Dominican Republic and Guatemala at the economic, commercial, social, academic and cultural levels.

A mixed delegation of businessmen and authorities of the Dominican Republic will travel to Guatemala to exchange with Guatemalan businessmen and government officials, who will have the opportunity to meet through a culinary, cultural and commercial exchange experience, where they will present the virtues that the Dominican Republic has to offer through business panels in front of the main economic groups.
