Iberojet inaugurates direct flight from Oporto to Punta Cana

The new connection is part of the new flight schedule launched by Iberojet for the summer season.

The airline Iberojet inaugurated its new direct flight between Oporto (Portugal) and Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) on Wednesday 20th, with the aim of diversifying destinations for the Portuguese market and offering new flights.

It should be noted that the inaugural flight took off 100% full and the occupancy forecast for this route for the rest of the months is expected to be 90%, a figure that demonstrates the good reception of the route.

This new connection is part of the new flight schedule launched by Iberojet for the summer season, one of the most ambitious in the company’s history in terms of the number of weekly flights and destinations offered, both from Spain and Portugal.

Iberojet will not only offer this direct flight from Portugal during the summer months, but will also operate up to three different routes: from Lisbon to Cancun, Punta Cana and Varaderos, each with a weekly frequency.

“This new Porto-Punta Cana flight is part of the business strategy that Iberojet has been implementing for years to continue its commitment to flights from Portugal to the Caribbean. With this new route Iberojet offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a direct flight without having to travel to the capital, which is where most long-haul flights depart from,” commented Javier Castillo, Ávoris’ general manager in Portugal.
