Russian airline Royal Flights begins operations with connections between Punta Cana and Moscow

The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Russia announced the start of operations of the Russian airline Royal Flights, with flights to and from Punta Cana and the Russian capital, Moscow.

A press release issued by the Dominican embassy in Russia indicates that Royal Flights is the operating line of tour operator Coral Travel, one of the most prestigious travel agents in the Russian Federation for the wide variety of destinations it offers in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

“The addition of Royal Flights reconnects the flow of Russian tourists to the Punta Cana airport. Already on August 9, Azur Air began carrying Russian visitors to La Romana airport,” a press release stated.

The embassy indicated that the restart of Royal Flights operations represents a possibility to expand the Dominican tourist offer in the Russian Federation due to the important client base of this airline, which handles more than 3 million clients from 30 Russian cities each year.

The Dominican ambassador to Russia, Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, also pointed out that a significant number of Russian tour operators and airlines have expressed an interest in venturing into the Dominican destination, from departure points in cities in the Urals region of central Russia.

Dannenberg Castellanos added that the Dominican Republic has become the fastest growing destination in Russia for fall and winter bookings, ranking among the top 5 destinations in terms of bookings made by Russian tourists. These new air routes will also enable more active bilateral trade between the two nations.
