David Collado makes the announcement during the first day of ITB 2023.
Swiss Edelweise airline will start a weekly flight from Zurich to Puerto Plata, beginning in the summer.
The new flight was announced by Tourism Minister David Collado during the first day of ITB Berlin 2023.
Collado said that this is good news, as this route will replace the Air France flight to Puerto Plata.
Afterwards, Minister Collado received two awards simultaneously, the first for the country that recovered the fastest from the Covid-19 pandemic and the second as the best Minister of Tourism.
The awards were presented to Collado by Stefano Schwenk, president of Radio Group Germany, and CEO Elike Knall.
Radio Group Germany operates 20 radio stations in Germany and Germany’s only tourism station, Radio Holiday.
