Wingo expands its offer with 350 additional flights

Airlines are already starting to launch their bets for the upcoming high season between June and August. San Andres will be one of the most benefited destinations.

The high vacation season in June is approaching and, with this, one of the most dynamic sectors is that of the airlines that, from now on, begin to launch their supply bets to meet the demand.

For example, this is already the case of Wingo, which announced that it will increase its capacity for the high season with the addition of 350 new flights between June and August, on a total of nine routes. It will do so, on both domestic and international routes and with the placement of 65,000 additional seats.

According to the low-cost airline, around 93% of these increases will be on flights within Colombia, with San Andres, Medellin, Cartagena and Santa Marta being the most benefited routes. Of the nine routes benefiting from the increases, seven are domestic.

“At Wingo we continue to place capacity where the country needs it. That is why we are increasing our operations during the high holiday season in the middle of the year, so that Colombians do not frustrate their travel plans by not having a greater supply of low-cost routes. These 350 flights represent greater fare possibilities for thousands of travelers, as well as a new boost for the national tourism chain,” said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Commercial and Planning Director.

In other airline announcements for the season, Arajet announced that it will open a new route between Medellín and Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Wingo routes with increased offer

In Wingo, the routes benefited are those connecting Bogota with Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, Santa Marta and Cartagena; and those connecting San Andres with Cartagena and Barranquilla. As it usually happens in travel tourism, San Andres will be one of the destinations that will benefit the most from this increase in Wingo, with 40 additional flights represented in about 7,500 seats throughout these three months of high season.

In international destinations, Wingo will also place 26 additional flights to Arub. These flights will originate from Medellin and Bogota and will have a larger deployment in July. In addition, the low cost carrier is about to inaugurate the Cali – Aruba route, available from July 1st of this year.
