Embassy of Argentina in the DR to attend SaborFusión 2023

The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic in the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Nora Elizabeth Capello, received the invitation to Sabor Fusión 2023 with the visit of the Director of Sustainable Tourism of the Professional Gastronomic Council of the Americas, Chef Rubén Oña Mazzola.

Sabor Fusión is the gastronomic and tourism congress that gives visibility to national and international talent. The space in which major brands, professionals, institutions, Michelin stars, students, media, small entrepreneurs and local producers share their talent, their enthusiasm and their knowledge in a close and unmediated way.

From March 8 to 10, 2023, the city of Santo Domingo will experience 3 days of unprecedented international activities, thanks to the alliance between Grupo Sabor Fusión and the Professional Gastronomic Council of the Americas: the organization of the Dominican Republic National Competition for the Bocuse D’Or, the Summit of Chef Presidents of the Americas and the American Cocktail. Also, the organization and coordination of the Claudio Ferrer Continental Culinary Cup and the Gastronomy and Food Security Summit of the Americas.

The competition stimulates the development of professionals and students at the national and international level, encourages their brotherhood through an internal competition and then a competition at the continental level, where they must demonstrate the evolution and progress of the culinary art, seeking to rescue the identity of our regional cuisines, valuing their products, sustainability and the good use of raw materials and their impact on the industry. The first three winning teams will receive prizes and the winning team will represent us in the World Competitions on behalf of the continent. The teams that enter the COMPETITION are classified as follows: 4 teams for Central America 4 teams for South America 4 teams for North America 4 teams for Caribbean Antilles.

The Chefs Summit of the Americas brings together the presidents of culinary associations from all the subcontinents of the Americas (North, South, Central and Antilles Caribbean). The framework of the summit strengthens ties between countries, contributes to the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and relates to projects that are then presented to the governments of different American countries.

The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic in the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Nora Elizabeth Capello, thanked Chef Rubén Oña Mazzola for the invitation and applauded the fact that gastronomic professionals from her native country are coming to participate in this Continental Competition.

Chef Rubén Oña Mazzola, in addition to his ad honorem functions in the CPGA and Director in the Caribbean Antilles for ACRA Asociación de Cocina Regional Argentina, is professionally Assistant Corporate Chef at Bahía Príncipe Hotels & Resots of Grupo Piñero.

Since my presidency, we have been carrying out, together with Ambassador Nora Capello of Argentina, negotiation tasks to promote a favorable climate to foster economic, political and commercial relations between both States, the recipient and the one represented through the embassy. We are very happy to carry out this agreement together with the firm SaborFusión and to be able to hold a major event in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in March 2023, where we will also be accompanied by the embassies of different countries of America. We are convinced that this is the path of construction and strengthening of the Americas that we proposed to take forward as a post-pandemic Continental Organization (these were the words of Cristian Ponce de León, President of the Professional Gastronomic Council of the Americas).
