Onamet forecasts scattered downpours this Saturday due to the incidence of a trough

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported that, for this Saturday, the tropical wave will have left the national territory, however, the humidity will remain which together with a trough, will bring cloud developments to cause scattered showers with possible thunderstorms, mainly over the northeast, southeast, Central Cordillera and the border area.

As for temperatures, they will be during the day with average values between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius due to the time of year (summer) and the warm wind from the east / southeast, therefore, recommended not to be exposed to solar radiation for prolonged time, wear light clothing, preferably light colors and drink enough water.

Meanwhile, for this Sunday, Meteorology forecasts cloudy weather with showers, which could be moderate to locally heavy with thunderstorms and wind gusts, mainly over different localities of the northeast, southeast regions, including Greater Santo Domingo, southwest, the Central Mountain Range and some sectors of the border area.

The entity also reported an area of cloudiness, downpours and thunderstorms to the southeast, near the coast of Georgia, in the United States, associated with a large area of low pressure, which has a 40% chance of becoming a cyclone during the next 48 hours. It does not represent danger for the Dominican Republic.
