A delegation from Puerto Plata is preparing to attend the forty-third edition of the Colombian tourism showcase Anato, at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), which will place special emphasis on the destination during its participation in the trade meeting to be held from February 28 to March 1, in Corferias Bogota, Colombia.
The representation is made up of authorities, leaders of the tourism sector and businessmen, who have coordinated a joint attendance, leaving for Bogota on February 27, on a special flight scheduled by the Arajet airline, through Mitur’s efforts with the Clúster Turístico Destino Puerto Plata (CTDPP) and associations of Puerto Plata.
Leading the participation will be the Mayor of Puerto Plata, Diomedes García and the Northern Regional Director of Mitur, Carlos Atahualpa Paulino. Representing the private sector will be Birgitt Heinsen, president of the CTDPP; Carlos Rodolí, of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism Enterprises of the North (Ashonorte); César José de los Santos, of the Association of Hotels and Commercial Establishments of Playa Dorada, and Mileyka Brugal, of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Puerto Plata.
“We are very grateful for this distinction made by the Ministry of Tourism, in the context of the evolutionary stage we are experiencing in our North Coast. In Aato we are committed to continue strengthening ties with tour operators that have traditionally supported us and we are going to conquer new relationships with which we can enhance our promotion plan and attract new visitors,” they said.
They announced that during the DR Tourism Road Show Colombia, presented by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, for the first time a Dominican destination will have a space to be exposed by one of its actors, a presentation that they said is timely and will be well appreciated to project all the benefits offered by Puerto Plata in its diversified proposal.
