The province of Montecristi has all the natural conditions to become one of the most important tourist and energetic poles of the country.
The statement was made by the president of the Development Commission of Montecristi, Héctor Armando Rodríguez Rosario, who, together with the directors of the entity, highlighted the investments that are being made in this important zone of the Northwest Line.
Rodriguez said that the medium-term goals are to manage the investment of three thousand tourist rooms in Montecristi, and thus achieve profitability in the international airport, and bring at least five international flights to this tourist destination.

The president of the Development Commission of Montecristi emphasizes that they work hand in hand with all business sectors, energy, tourism cluster among others to raise the level of this tourist destination, and to recover the economic development.
Héctor Armando highlights that they have developed strategies to put in the eyes of the world the extraordinary natural conditions that Montecristi possesses, which promote the beach of El Morro, the Siete Hermanos cays, and especially the favorable climate for being one of the areas with the lowest rainfall in the country, ideal for beach tourism. In addition, he emphasizes that this commission seeks governance to manage the works that the province needs, especially in the tourism area, which go hand in hand with important projects such as the improvement of basic services.
Some of the goals set are the installation in the airport of customs, fuels and migration, for which they are in conversation with investors for these projects, as well as the construction of a five thousand meters long runway.

The businessman emphasizes that Montecristi is the fifth tourist pole of the country and this is combined in the fact that this province is protected under the law 158-01 of incentive and tourist promotion, of which he emphasizes that very few resources reach them with respect to the investment made by this ministry in other tourist poles such as Punta Cana and Las Terrenas.
