The Hyatt Inclusive Collection hotel chain continues its expansion plan in the RD with the inauguration this year of two new establishments in Playa Esmeralda de Miches, El Seibo province. These are the Secrets Playa Esmeralda and Dreams Playa Esmeralda, which will offer a total of 1,000 luxury rooms.
During the celebration of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2024) in the tourist area of Punta Cana, Hyyatt representatives emphasized that the country is an important priority for the chain, which has a portfolio of 15 resorts and 8,069 rooms in five destinations. This is 9.19% of the national offer, which amounts to 87,723 units confirmed by the RD Hotel and Tourism Association (Asonahores).
Matthias Hohner, regional commercial vice-president for the RD and Colombia, pointed out that both the Secrets Playa Esmeralda, a hotel exclusively for adults, and the Dreams Playa Esmeralda, designed for the whole family, promise to offer an exceptional experience to their visitors.
Hohner emphasizes options
Hohner emphasized that Hyatt’s expanded hotel offerings provide options for every type of visitor, from luxury accommodations to a wide range of spaces to provide an unforgettable experience.
The new properties at Playa Esmeralda will feature ten restaurants, some of them inspired by different countries, serving exquisite delicacies. Guests will have unlimited access to a wide selection of national and international beverages, as well as a variety of daytime activities and live nightly entertainment.

Hohner detailed that recent openings in the RD include: Secrets Tides Punta Cana with 668 rooms, host hotel for the closing event of DATE 2024; Dreams Flora Resort & Spa with 520 suites; Sunscape Dominicus La Romana, with 854 accommodations and Sunscape Coco Punta Cana with 1,059.
