Abinader heads follow-up meeting on the Citizen Security Plan

At this moment, President Luis Abinader is heading the follow-up meeting of the Citizen Security Plan, at the National Police Palace, in continuity with the Government’s actions for the strengthening of citizen security.

The meeting, which began after 10:30 am in the Officers’ Club Hall of the Police Palace, evaluates the tasks assigned, achievements obtained and measures to continue strengthening security in the country.

Seizure of 30,000 bladed weapons

Prior to the start of the meeting to follow up on the Citizen Security Plan, the director of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, showed President Abinader the confiscation of 30,000 bladed weapons that were taken off the streets during different operations throughout the country, which will no longer be used for acts of vandalism throughout the national territory.

In the company of President Abinader, are the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa; the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, together with the Minister of Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez Martínez. Also, the director general of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then; the commander general of the Dominican Republic Army, Major General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the commander of the Dominican Republic Navy, Vice Admiral Agustín Alberto Morillo Rodríguez, and the president of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa.

Also, the head of the General Directorate of Transit Security and Land Transportation (Digesett), General Ramon Antonio Guzman Peralta; of the Tourism Police (Politur), General Minoru Matsunaga; the executive director of the National System of Emergency Attention and Security 9-1-1 and interim director of Intrant, pilot Colonel Randolfo Rijo Gomez, and the executive commissioner for police reform, Jose Vila del Castillo.

Also, the deputy prosecutor and head of the Directorate of Prosecution of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Yeni Berenice Reynoso and a commission of prosecutors composed of the prosecutor of the National District, Rosalba Ramos; of Santiago, Osvaldo Bonilla, of San Pedro de Macoris, Suleika Mateo; of Monte Cristi, Grimaldi Oviedo; of Dajabón, Yeisi Alcántara; of La Romana, Kevin Santana; of Santo Domingo Oeste, Eduard López; of Peravia, Ángel Darío Tejeda; of La Vega, Aura Luz García; of Puerto Plata, Kelmi Duncan, and of San Cristóbal, Fadulia Rosa.
