IDAC and Global Air Navigation Services: academic agreement

The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) and Global Air Navigation Services (GANS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement a cooperation agreement on training oriented to the areas of interest of both institutions.

The agreement, which involves the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA) of the IDAC and GANS of the United Arab Emirates, was formalized during the third day of the ICAO Global Implementation Symposium, which is being held in the tourist community of Punta Cana.

The document signed by Hector Porcella, director general of the IDAC and Yahya Al Hammadi, executive director of GANS, contemplates the development of a collaboration and academic exchange program for the benefit of technical staff and accredited students of the two countries.

Objective: Development

One of the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding is to support cooperation for aeronautical instruction in the development and delivery of training programs, as well as to explore the exchange of training courses and instructors, explore marketing and promotional opportunities, and develop joint collaboration activities.

IDAC Y Global Air ReunidosBoth IDAC and GANS will collaborate with each other in the training of skills and instructors, joint development and/or delivery of courses in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) and Human Resource Development (HRD) and its personnel.

The IDAC as a specialized technical entity is responsible for the supervision and control of civil aviation in the DR, with the mission to regulate, certify, monitor, provide air navigation services and promote the sustainable development of civil aviation, overseeing compliance with national and international standards and managing safety in the aeronautical activity of the DR.

Meanwhile, GANS is a leading provider of air navigation services, with services provided to 18 units, 2 approaches and 16 airfields in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi International Airports, handling more than 740,000 air traffic movements per year.

GANS Training Center is a UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) approved training organization; it is also an ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Program (TPP) Regional Training Center of Excellence (RTCE).
