For the president of the Dominican Airlines Association (ADLA), Omar Chain, the country needs the expansion of the President Doctor Joaquin Balaguer International Airport (El Higüero) to turn it into the second airport of the capital.
In his opinion, the terminal of Las Americas (AILA) is totally collapsed, according to Diario Libre.
“Punta Cana already has a second terminal and can continue to grow, but Las Americas does not. That is why I have proposed to President Abinader that the country invest in the growth of Higüero. This would decongest Las Americas and we could all grow,” he added.
