The Ministry of Labor announced the celebration in the National District, this Friday, April 26, of the 400th job fair, as an important scenario for employers in search of talent, as well as for those interested in finding work.
The job fairs, consolidated to reduce the gap between labor supply and demand, reaffirms the commitment of the Ministry of Labor with the strengthening of the labor market in the RD.
Thanks to these intermediation actions throughout the country and the active employment policies implemented in the government administration of President Luis Abinader, according to statistics from the Social Security Treasury, by December 2023, 506,452 formal jobs had been added, originating in the private sector more than 85% of these.
Recover jobs lost in the pandemic
The Minister of Labor has reaffirmed the purpose of this government to recover all the jobs lost during the pandemic, generate new ones and strengthen intermediation.
“Our effort translates into a powerful intermediation action, on average every three days, demonstrating our firm commitment to unite Dominican talent with job opportunities throughout the nation,” said De Camps.
“Similarly, through DR Trabaja and its employment exchange, labor intermediation has been strengthened, making it easier for workers and employers to identify short, medium and long-term needs,” the minister went on to explain.
“DR Trabaja is positioned as the bridge between talent and opportunities, preparing the RD for the labor future. It is the gateway to ensure that those jobs we create reach Dominicans, wherever they are and without distinction,” concluded the official.
This 400th job fair is a tangible testimony of the Ministry’s hard work and dedication to create opportunities.
Likewise, with the implementation of the Inclusive Labor Insertion Commitment, it has been possible to expand labor insertion and decent work for vulnerable groups, with equal opportunities and without discrimination.
