Asonahores and Aderes, sixth edition of “Tapas Night”

The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the RD (Asonahores) and the Dominican Restaurant Association (Aderes) will hold the sixth edition of “Tapas Night” with the objective of promoting the creativity and variety of Dominican gastronomy and promoting the country’s culinary sector.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 11, at the Gran Salón of the JW Marriott Santo Domingo hotel, where the most iconic restaurants of the city will be presenting a live gastronomic proposal for the enjoyment of diners.

David Llibre, president of Asonahores, expressed that through the platform both entities seek to elevate the culinary art of the city as part of the strategy to position the country as a Caribbean Tapas Night 01gastronomic destination.

“From Asonahores we reaffirm our commitment to the culinary sector and the interesting proposals they offer, where on this occasion they will present a selection of their best tapas and the option of pairing with cocktails and drinks for a memorable experience for the palate,” he said.

Omar Cepeda, president of Aderes, explained that the entity’s strategic objective is to develop initiatives such as Restaurant Week and Tapas Night, which represent for our country scenarios where gastronomy is the protagonist and create unique experiences that awaken the senses and transport diners on a culinary journey.

“Our locally sourced products are the cornerstone of our culinary identity, so our purpose is to rescue and highlight our local flavors and ingredients in each of the proposals that will be presented during this Tapas Night,” he said.

Tapas Night is an event of the SDQ Gastronomic platform, which highlights Dominican restaurants, where the talent of their chefs is staged, recognizing their culinary standards and the different combinations of flavors offered by this sector in the city of Santo Domingo.

In this edition, 12 Aderes member restaurants will participate, which will present different proposals prepared by their respective chefs, such as: Bottega Fratelli, Casa Luca, Casa Mencia, Grain Apart, JW Marriot, La Cassina, La Dolcerie, Maraca, Nocciola, Sonoma, Samurai and Patagonia.

With the presence of American Express, official sponsor of the event, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), the activity includes a lounge atmosphere with music and experiences with cocktails and drinks, as well as experiences created with the sponsorship of El Catador; Agua San Pelegrino; Cerveza Corona and Cervecería Nacional Dominicana; United Brands, with its brands Vodka Beluga, Tequila Altos, Brockmans Gin and Chivas Regal; Brugal 1888; Grupo Rica, Café Santo Domingo, JW Marriott and Americo Cigars.
