Dominican Republic Government maintains fuel prices

The Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín, informed this Friday that the Government has decided to maintain the extraordinary subsidies, with more than 500 million pesos, mainly for gasoline, diesel and LPG.

Gasolina RDFrom the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes reported, as every week, the behavior of international fuel markets and their impact on the local market for the week of April 27 to May 3, 2024. “With the commitment to avoid the transfer of international price hikes to our consumers, the government of President Luis Abinader has decided to maintain extraordinary subsidies on several key products,” said the deputy minister.

He explained that regular diesel will be subsidized almost 30 pesos per gallon; optimum diesel will be subsidized almost 20 pesos per gallon; regular gasoline will be subsidized almost 27 pesos per gallon and premium gasoline will be subsidized almost 25 pesos per gallon. In the case of liquefied petroleum gas, a subsidy of almost 10 pesos per gallon will be applied.

This effort represents a considerable financial sacrifice on the part of the Government of nearly DR 518.6 million. “We are committed to the economic well-being of our citizens and will continue to work to mitigate the impact of changes in international fuel prices.”

Prices

For the week of April 27 to May 3, 2024, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs provides that fuels will be marketed at the following prices:

Premium gasoline DR 290.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Regular gasoline DR 272.50 per gallon maintains its price.
Regular diesel DR 221.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Optimum diesel DR 239.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Avtur DR 208.13 per gallon drops DR 9.33.
Kerosene DR 239.00 per gallon down DR 10.30.
Fuel oil #6 DR 165.37 per gallon down DR 0.43.
Fuel oil 1%S DR 183.06 per gallon low DR 2.44.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) DR 132.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Natural gas DR 43.97 per m3 maintains its price.

The weekly average exchange rate is DR 59.06, taken from the Central Bank’s daily publications.
