The 39th edition of the Soberano Awards, held last Tuesday, reaffirmed its leadership as the artistic event with the highest audience in the country and, on this occasion, marked a milestone with the first broadcast in the United States, where it broke audience records.
According to the audience analysis of Exacta Digital Media Research, the broadcast of the ceremony, which was made for the RD through Color Visión, refers that the highest point of audience was 12.51, a share of 34.54% and an ignition in homes of 29.6%. In the RD, the awards achieved a rating that exceeded the broadcast of Premios Lo Nuestro by 3.0%, 1.7 k% over the Oscars, and 1.4k% over the broadcast of the Viña del Mar Festival.
“Premios Soberano is consolidating its position and this year increased the audience results of its last two editions. Without a doubt, this is the ceremony that literally paralyzes the country and brings together the Dominican family in front of the television to enjoy its spectacular entertainment proposal in honor of the best of art and culture,” said Wanda Sánchez, president of Acroarte.
Color vision transmission
In addition to these convincing audience levels, the ceremony received 155,000 views on Color Visión’s website and more than 1.7 million views on YouTube. “A historic production with the best image of the RD”, as stated in a promotion of Color Visión, the official channel of the awards in the country.
Meanwhile, the award given by the Asociación de Cronistas de Arte transcended beyond local borders in 2024, thanks to the transmission of Univision, the most important Hispanic network in the United States and its streaming platform VIX, which described this award as “a historic event”.
It was the most tuned program
According to data provided by the network, Premios Soberano was the most watched program during its period among adults 18-49 with 632 thousand viewers in New York City, the most watched program during the entire day among adults 18-34.
The awards show also surpasses the viewership of NBC’s People Choice Awards airing February 18, 2024, ABC’s Country Music Awards on November 8, 2023, and Telemundo’s Billboard Latin Music Awards airing May 10, 2023.
“Thanks to the invaluable collaboration with the Asociación de Cronistas de Arte (Acroarte), we are very proud to have been able to provide a cultural event of great interest to our Hispanic community and to have obtained a very positive response from New Yorkers that is reflected in these results,” said Roberto Yañez, Northeast regional manager, president and general manager of Univision 41 New York.
“That this year reflected an increase in audience levels is in sync with the hard work of producing the awards that we began well in advance in August of last year,” noted Wanda Sanchez. “Rejoicing with the excellent work of Color Vision, the Univision staff, who allowed the public to enjoy a crystal clear high definition broadcast of the iconic event in the RD.”
