The executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Mario Lama, delivered this Friday DR 71,520,863.2 in medical equipment to three hospitals of the Regional Metropolitan Health Service (SRSM), to strengthen the quality of the services they offer to their users.
The delivery of equipment began at the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital, where the equipment was delivered. Gautier, where an anesthesia machine, 20 multi-function manual beds for hospitalization, two stretchers for emergencies and healing, two adult-pediatric ventilators, two orthopedic operating tables, two 45-pound industrial hospital washing machines and two 40-pound industrial dryers, valued at DR 5,183,395.83, were delivered.
The head of the SNS said that this equipment is part of the government plan of President Luis Abinader to improve the quality of care for Dominicans and to strengthen health services in the public health network.
Later, the director of the SNS went, together with the director of the Metropolitan region, Dr. Edisson Féliz, to the Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital, where he delivered a C-arm and two endoscopy towers, one of them with an electrosurgical unit.
Machines received
The health center also received two anesthesia machines, a 24-tube centrifuge, two electric rolling aspirators for secretions, two standard binocular microscopes, a refrigerator for the blood bank, two washing machines and two industrial dryers, three swivel chairs, two desks and two metal files, equipment valued at more than DR 62 million.
With this new delivery, the Moscoso Puello has received during the current administration an investment in equipment for more than DR 200 million, for the reinforcement of the areas of Emergency, Surgery, Cardiology, ICU, Medical Imaging, Laboratory, Urology and Ophthalmology, among others, which allows to expand the response capacity and ensure timely and quality care to users.
“With the delivery of this equipment, we have made an extraordinary and historic investment in this health center, since it has equipment that some residences had never had before and today they have it,” said Dr. Lama. He also announced that in four months the Vascular Unit will be enabled.
Manual beds
Likewise, at the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital, the director of the SNS delivered six manual beds for hospitalization, four thermal food distribution carts, two microwave ovens, two refrigerators for food preservation, two food processors, two food slicers and an industrial frying pan, with an investment of DR 3.6 million.
“With this new equipment, the hospitals’ resolution capacity is strengthened, in order to offer dignified and quality attention to users,” said Lama.
He also called on the collaborators in all the hospitals that have benefited to make proper use of the equipment.
Tour
The hospital tour ended at the recently inaugurated Hospital Materno Dr. Evangelina Rodríguez, formerly Hospital de la Mujer, where the head of the SNS toured the different areas, with the purpose of verifying their adequacy to provide services starting next Tuesday in the areas of Emergency, Imaging and Laboratory, and starting on May 20 with Internment and Operating Room.
