President leaves tomorrow for NY; will make UN debut on Wednesday

United States, to participate in the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), where he will also exhaust an extensive agenda that includes bilateral meetings and meetings with representatives of the Dominican Diaspora.

The Dominican head of state, who will be visiting that city for the first time as head of state of the nation, will address the members of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday 22 in the afternoon.

The president will leave the country at 6:00 am from the José Francisco Peña Gómez Las Americas International Airport on a commercial flight.

Upon his arrival in New York, Abinader will be received at John F. Kennedy Airport by the Consul General in that city, Eligio Jáquez.

Afterwards, he will have a meeting with Dominican journalists based in the state of New York at the Sheraton Hotel, and later, he will attend a welcoming ceremony organized by the Consulate General. The activity will take place at the Armory Track, 216 Fort Washington Ave. from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Bilateral meetings

The head of state will have a conversation with elected officials of Dominican origin, the leadership of the Dominican community in New York, as well as with children of Dominicans born in the United States and naturalized Dominicans, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Consulate General. – 8:30 p.m., at the United Palace.

On Sunday 19, President Luis Abinader will participate in the ceremony of recognition of personalities of the Diaspora in the United States and presentation of new actions of the Dominican Institute Abroad (INDEX), to be held at Beverly Hills Manor, Bronx, starting at noon.

Later, he will attend the accountability event with the community abroad, at the George Washington High Auditorium, and in the evening, he will attend the game between the Mets and the Philadelphia Philips, in which he will throw out the first pitch, at Citi Field Stadium.

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, will continue his international agenda on Monday 20 with his participation in the World Leaders Forum at Columbia University, where he will give a lecture together with the academic Jorge Castañeda.

He will then attend the opening of the exhibition, “1961: Year of Freedom”, in collaboration with City College of NY (CUNY), at CUNY Park.

Afterwards, President Abinader will address the first virtual meeting with ministers from New York City.
