Construction begins on a modern hotel in San Francisco de Macorís

Premium Residences and Grupo De Valle have begun construction of a modern 126-room hotel, with an investment of over US$12 million.

The hotel is part of the renowned international brand La Quinta, and in its construction phase alone will generate some 500 direct and indirect jobs, and another 200 when it starts operating in the summer of 2025.

The renowned hotel brand will feature four retail spaces, an elegant lobby, lobby bar and restaurant, coworking spaces and a gym where locals can purchase coworking and fitness day passes, a pool and poolside bar, and the only rooftop lounge and bar in the entire region.

The opening ceremony of the construction took place in the presence of the main investors and provincial authorities, who highlighted the import of the hotel in such a productive area as San Francisco de Macoris.

The activity was headed by businessman Franklin Romero and Ivanov Collado, main shareholders, as well as Mr. Edward De Valle II and Curt Mc Guir, the master franchisors and exclusive representatives of La Quinta by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in the DR.

“The construction of La Quinta San Francisco de Macoris is a significant achievement for our city, its people and Premium Residences,” said Romero, president of Premium Residences.

Collado reported that construction of the hotel is progressing according to schedule and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025.

The Master Franchisor of La Quinta by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and president of Grupo GDV, Edward De Valle II, highlighted the political stability and good investment climate in the country.

He said that the construction of this new La Quinta hotel puts San Francisco de Macorís, a province he described as wonderful, “with extraordinary people”, on the world tourism map.
