Hyatt calls for investment for access by car and plane

Javier Coll, Group President, Global Business Development & Innovation of Inclusive Collection -part of World of Hyatt-, continues the series of interviews with the great leaders of American tourism on the occasion of REPORTUR’s tenth anniversary, highlighting the needs for Pedernales to soon position itself as a successful destination.

“Pedernales is a beautiful destination with great potential for Inclusive Collection. The country is already doing its part in promoting the area to attract the interest of travelers, and they should invest in infrastructure to make sure it is easily accessible by car and by air,” said Javier Coll. (Javier Coll (Hyatt): “There are still destinations in the Mexican Caribbean that are not on the radar of travelers”).

In his opinion, “these are key factors, especially for U.S. travelers who are an important market for the Dominican Republic given its proximity to the island”, (Riu: “Pedernales can position itself in a short time as Costa Mujeres demonstrates”).

Likewise, in the same interview with REPORTUR, he pointed out that in the Mexican Caribbean “there are still destinations that are not on the radar of travelers”, while he considers that the greatest threats to tourism in Quintana Roo lie in the competition from other regional destinations and also from long-distance destinations.

At the same time, the architect of the fastest expansion in the history of resorts, addresses its expansion in the United States, and the landing in cities like New York of its all-inclusive offer.
