Meliá Hotels Group formalized, through an agreement, the arrival of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in the Dominican Republic.
The signing was made by Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels International and the Minister of Tourism, David Collado; along with the executive president of Banco Popular Dominicano, Christopher Paniagua, among others.
“Excited to announce the arrival of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy, a commitment to the excellence of the destination and its participation as a home for great athletes and tourism lovers of our country,” Collado said at Fitur 2024.
It is recalled that the announcement to launch such project was made last November 2023 when Escarrer communicated about the development of a hotel of the ‘Zel’ brand in Punta Cana, which is a project in collaboration with tennis player Rafael Nadal. Both projects will be the first in the Americas.
