With the objective of integrating sports in the educational centers of the country, implementing talks and exhibitions of different disciplines, the National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi) took this Tuesday its program “Athletes with Inefi” to the Polytechnic Institute Angeles Custodios, where the volleyball player Gina Mambru was the main protagonist.
During the activity, a portrait of the trajectory of the lanky and renowned Dominican player was exhibited, who in her dissertation emphasized “discipline, motivation and faith in God”.
“In addition to studying, they should exercise by practicing sports, which will contribute a lot in their preparation, not only physically, but also intellectually,” said the “Queen of the Caribbean”.
For the students of the center it was a unique experience to have an athlete of Mambrú’s category, who studied at the school, talking about her life experience as an athlete and giving a talk focused on positive values for society.
The students were very happy for the presentation of the renowned athlete, who also answered questions from the young students after her presentation. Both students and teachers at the school described Mambrú’s participation as “very valuable”.
In addition to guiding the students of this educational center located in the populous sector of Cristo Rey, Gina Mambrú and María García, coordinator of the “Athletes with INEFI” program, also handed out sports equipment including basketballs, volleyballs and hoops.
They indicated that, with the exhibitions and talks offered to students in different schools, INEFI persistently seeks to motivate the practice of sports in different disciplines.
The event was also attended by the physical education teachers of the Ángeles Custodios, Víctor de León, Argelio Omar Medina and Braulio Pallán.
