Fonper to equip Infotep’s specialized technology centers

The Fondo Patrimonial de las Empresas Reformadas (Fonper) will donate to the Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional (Infotep), the necessary resources for the acquisition of equipment and components that will allow the immediate implementation of three training centers oriented to the development of Industry 4.0.

The signed agreement establishes that Fonper will equip a modern specialized center for the training of logistics technicians for maritime transport, which is located on the grounds of the former administrative offices of the Central Río Haina and a center located at the Mamá Tingó stop, in Villa Mella, where railway technical workers will be trained and educated.

In addition to these two centers, the funds will be invested in completing the equipment of the Community Technology Center 4.0, in Santana, in the municipality of Nizao, Peravia province, where young people and adults from these communities will be trained as operators of heavy machinery and logistics, among other areas.

The president of Fonper, José Florentino, affirmed that with this agreement the entity fulfills its main mission, which is to dedicate its resources to projects oriented to the development of the country.

“And what better than to collaborate with an institution such as Infotep, whose main mission is to train the human capital that drives the national industry”, said Florentino.

On his side, the general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, said that with this donation, the institution will develop a training plan for technicians aligned to the needs of the heavy vehicle operators, logistics and maritime transport sectors, in line with the advances of industry 4.0.

“You can be sure, the country, Fonper and its governing body, as is the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, with his clear directives, that this particular donation is a solid investment that will have, like no other, a singular multiplying impact on the assets of the Dominican Republic,” Santos Badía maintained.

The agreement also establishes that Infotep will offer the service of validation of trainings and trainings and will certify anyone who successfully completes the required evaluation procedures and tests, while training a corps of teachers in the area of heavy vehicle operators, logistics and maritime transport, associated with industry 4.0.

Another agreement signed by both institutions

Last October, Infotep and Fonper signed another agreement through which they developed a training and technical assistance plan in the South and Cibao Norte, in order to train thousands of people in bakery, pastry and garment making in these regions.

The agreement, signed by the general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, and the president of Fonper, José Florentino, seeks to promote community integration and stimulate the economy of the benefited areas.

The agreement, which will have a duration of three years, set out the lines for the construction and equipping of seven bakeries, pastry shops and three textile factories by Fonper.
