The Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores) successfully concluded the twenty-fourth edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2024), the main business platform for the tourism sector, held at the Paradisus Palma Real hotel, where the Dominican tourism product was the protagonist and host.
Aguie Lendor, executive vice-president of Asonahores, explained that DATE closed with 8,500 business appointments and that this year 2024 had 133 stands where more than 340 buyers and 500 suppliers from 23 countries of the outbound markets were present.
“This ratifies DATE as the most important tourism marketing event in the Caribbean region,” he said.
He added that through DATE 2024 they supported the different segments and the great diversity offered by the Dominican tourism product, where they were able to ensure that suppliers had a more active presence with business meetings with specialized buyers.
David Llibre, president of Asonahores, said that “DATE is a marketing and promotion strategy that allows us to keep our offer in force, providing a business and relationship platform for the different actors of the Dominican tourism product to continue the growth in visitor arrivals that we have had and to continue impacting our economy and society”.
