Fitur 2024 anticipates a record edition with 9,000 participating companies

The International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur 2024) will reflect this year’s post-pandemic growth of the sector, with a record edition that will be attended by 9,000 companies, 500 more than last year, and 152 countries, 20 more, with Ecuador as the host destination.

From January 24 to 28, the sector’s first major event on the international calendar will host 806 exhibitors in nine pavilions at the IFEAMA fairgrounds in Madrid, which this year has opened an additional pavilion for an event that expects to attract 150,000 professionals and 100,000 visitors from the general public.

The increase in visitors will mean an economic injection of 430 million euros in revenue, which will have a direct impact on transportation, hotels, commerce and leisure in Madrid, organizers said Wednesday.

“The 44th edition of the fair will consolidate its position as the world’s leading event in terms of the number of participants and visitors,” said Juan Arrizabalaga, general manager of Ifema Madrid.

All sectors of Fitur are growing, both in terms of surface area and exhibitors, in an edition in which special emphasis will be placed on sustainable and accessible tourism.

Technology-based tourism companies will also play a prominent role, which this year have increased their number of exhibitors by 23%, to almost a hundred, and will have a dedicated space.
