The Central Directorate of Tourism Police (Politur) added another 117 agents, (80) men and (37) women, to the prevention work in the tourist areas of the country, who were part of the XIV promotion named “General Antonio Duvergé Duval”.
The graduation of the 117 new police officers, assigned to Politur, was headed by the director general of the National Police, Major General Manuel Antonio Guzmán Peralta, and the director of the entity, General Minoru Matsunaga.
The graduates received training in the areas of English, Personal Defense, First Aid, Citizen Service, Service Quality, Tourist Geography, Intelligence in Tourist Zones, among others.
The central words were given by the director of the School of Tourist Security, Colonel Elias D. Villar Tejeda, who indicated that the new members are part of the transformation of the National Police and the institution has focused on providing a comprehensive education, taking into account the highest levels of professional and police training.
He urged the new officers to act in accordance with the police rules and protocols, respecting the integrity of the citizens.
The distinction of honor graduate was received by young Diosairis Contreras De Oleo.
The academic curriculum was taught in coordination with the Instituto Policial de Educación Superior (IPES), with the support of the Comisión Técnica para la Transformación del Sistema Educativo Policíal (Technical Commission for the Transformation of the Police Educational System).
The graduates were sworn in by the Director General of the National Police, who wished success to all members of the graduating class and urged them to faithfully perform the duties for which they were prepared.
The ceremony was blessed by Reverend Father Francisco Rosenberg, Chaplain of the Central Directorate of Politur.
The activity took place in the auditorium of the Police Educational Plaza (Old Camp Duarte).
