Tourism launches its Malecones de Fiesta platform in several provinces

To the rhythm of merengue and salsa, the Ministry of Tourism kicked off this weekend its Malecones de Fiesta program, a platform where outstanding national artists performed in different provinces of the country.

The innovative initiative, which will extend throughout the month of December, began on Saturday 9 with presentations in Puerto Plata, Cabrera and La Romana, closing its first week on Sunday at the Malecon in the municipality of Santo Domingo East, with the strength and flavor of the Queen of Merengue, Milly Quezada.

“Christmas has arrived in Santo Domingo East” expressed the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, a few seconds after taking the stage and witnessing from beginning to end, a spectacular concert offered by the interpreter of the popular Christmas song “Volvió Juanita”.

“Today I only come to tell you, from the bottom of my heart, Merry Christmas, may God bless your homes and fill them with peace and joy, and what better way to celebrate than with this queen of merengue, Marca País”, said Collado to the audience, after starting Milly’s performance, interpreting with her orchestra her most popular merengues.

The Malecones de Fiesta platform began this Saturday, simultaneously, in La Romana, Cabrera and Puerto Plata, starting at 7:00 pm.

On Saturday night, the Malecon of La Romana vibrated with the contagious music of Ala Jaza, while on the Malecon of Cabrera the unmistakable salsa of Alex Matos was played.

That same day and time, Saturday at 7 pm, the Puerto Plata Malecon was bathed in flavor, melody and romanticism with Frank Ceara and his friends.

“With this new platform, the Ministry of Tourism will bathe with flavor and joy during Christmas the different malecones of the country, because we cannot continue to live with our backs to the sea,” says a note from MITUR.

It is recalled that the Ministry of Tourism has initiated an extensive program of recovery, construction and refurbishment of the country’s boardwalks.

On the instructions of Minister David Collado, MITUR built the seawall of La Caleta, in La Romana and refurbished those of Santo Domingo East and Cabrera.
