Grupo Piñero and Logitravel Group announced the creation of Soltour Travel Partners, a tour operator that brings together the strength of Soltour and the technological innovation of Smytravel.
The project was approved a few days ago by the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC), the last hurdle to its launch.
Under the slogan “We start with you”, Soltour Travel Partners is born with the aim of “boosting the sector and accompanying travel agencies” with a project that combines the specialized product of Soltour and its more than 10,000 partners, with Smytravel’s technology and “all the advantages of the digital world such as dynamism, omnichannel and immediacy”, the group explains.
The company resulting from the joint venture will be chaired by Encarna Piñero and will have Manny Fontenla as vice-president. In addition, the management team will be completed by Tomeu Bennasar (CEO), Javier Castillo (CEO assistant to Tomeu and will continue as CEO of Soltour) and José María Hoyos in the position of managing director.
Bennasar emphasized that this alliance “reinforces our commitment to work side by side with travel agencies, giving greater value to their work, through a project that offers solidity and security”.
On his side, Castillo is convinced that “it will allow us to face with optimism” a new stage in which “the tourism industry will experience a great recovery in the coming months thanks in part to our contribution”.
Finally, Hoyos stresses that the business initiative “contributes to the omnichannel nature of the sector by offering dynamic solutions for connectivity and competitiveness with personalized offers and immediately”.
“Our goal is to cover 100% of the needs of the agencies’ clients, which will allow them to avoid having to turn to other suppliers,” he added.
According to Hoyos, Soltour Travel Partners will give agencies the possibility of creating their own web page. And another of the brand’s great novelties is that “the commission will be set by the travel agency itself, something very innovative and which has been well received by professionals in the sector.
