Old Navy arrives in the Dominican Republic

This Saturday, July 16, the first Old Navy store will open in the Dominican Republic. The inauguration will be in charge of its local franchisee, AR Holdings.

The firm has announced that it will debut with a very cheerful collection, highlighting colors and freshness that blend to offer each member of the family comfortable and modern garments.

The emblematic “flip flops” will be the protagonists of this collection, along with pieces with the brand’s logo, sportswear, denim jeans and matching outfits for the whole family and for all body types.

This is the first Caribbean country in which the U.S.-based brand has set up shop, adding to its expansion in Central America, following launches in Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala and El Salvador. Gap Inc, Old Navy’s parent company, has a vision of growing steadily and profitably through its franchise model, which focuses on working with best-in-class companies such as AR Holdings.

“Coming to the Dominican Republic with a brand so loved and respected by Dominicans is a great honor and a great responsibility. We are confident that Old Navy’s inclusive values and family-oriented product variety align very well with Dominican values of family, joy, inclusion and friendship, and will allow us to meet the needs of our customers in the market. We couldn’t be happier to open our doors right here,” highlighted Antonio Burgos, CEO of AR Holdings.

“We are excited to grow Old Navy’s business in the Dominican Republic through our franchise model. Partnering with regional experts like AR Holdings allows us to expand and offer our brands around the world. We are confident that Old Navy’s affordable and fashionable products, sold in a unique, fun and family-friendly shopping environment, will really resonate with customers in this market,” said Paulina Delgado Salazar, Gap Inc. regional director for Latin America.

As part of Old Navy’s opening weekend celebration at Downtown Center, there will be giveaways, promotions and surprise activities for the whole family, including a 25% discount throughout the store. In addition, customers paying with a Banco Promerica credit card will receive an additional 10% discount on their purchase. The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Sundays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
