Inauguration of the 3rd edition of the Fine Arts Film Festival made in the DR

The screening of the film “Croma Kid” inaugurated the third edition of the Fine Arts Made in the DR Film Festival, which will run until September 14, in a new edition dedicated 100% to the Dominican film industry.

The Caribbean Cinemas and Altice festival will be held in 5 theaters of the Fine Arts Cinema Café at Novocentro, Santo Domingo, and at the Plaza Internacional in Santiago, with new Dominican productions of different genres, unpublished short films and several talks and conferences.

This edition featured “Croma Kid” as the opening film, this Lantica Media film was recently selected to participate in the 67th edition of the BFI London Film Festival in the “Create” section, a film curation that celebrates the creative process. The sci-fi film stars Nashla Bogaert, David Maler, Bosco Cardenas Guzman and Jaime Piña, directed by Pablo Chea.

In addition, there will be several talks and discussions free of charge for film students and the general public, given by leading industry professionals, access is by reservation with limited space, such as:

– “Behind the lens: the art of cinematography in film”, with Oliver Mota and Sebastián Cabrera, “Chelín”, on September 7, 6:00 p.m.

– “The unfolding of the actress in cinematic narrative,” with Fidia Peralta, Magdiel Ugaz and Judith Rodríguez on September 8, 6:00 p.m.

– “How to put together your film project? Article 34 and 39”, with Esteban Martín and Laura Castellanos, on Tuesday, September 11, 6:00 p.m.

On the other hand, this year’s official jury is composed of film critics and filmmakers Ariel Feliciano, Víctor Piñeyro, Marc Mejía, Alfonso Quiñones, José Rafael Sosa, chaired by Félix Manuel Lora, who will evaluate the films and select the winners in the following categories:

– Best Leading Actress

– Best Supporting Actress

– Best Leading Actor

– Best Supporting Actor

– Best Director

– Best Screenplay

– Best film
