All car lovers have ever longed to have a sports car, but that is adapted and approved for city driving; this model arrived in Ecuador and it is the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, brother of the 911 version.
Guillermo Parra, Porsche Ecuador advisor, mentions that this sports car delivers 500 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. “This engine is combined with the 7-speed PDK gearbox, specially adjusted for the type of use that will be given to this vehicle. It is the gearbox with the shortest development of all Porsche GTs.”
The German brand spokesman adds that the mid-engine concept is very agile with a displacement of 4.0 liters and a naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine. It also features six individual butterfly valves for direct response. “A high-revving concept that easily brushes the 9,000 mark. An output of 368 kW (500 Hp) makes the new 718 Cayman GT4 RS one of the most powerful mid-engine sports cars in Porsche history.”
The unladen weight of 1,415 kilograms – according to DIN standard – is achieved through intelligent lightweight construction: both the front hood and the front wings are made of carbon fiber and the rear window is made of lightweight glass. The insulation material has been reduced and components such as the rear luggage compartment screen have been omitted. Result: 35 kilos less than the 718 Cayman GT4.
One of the fastest in the segment
The standard Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 315 km/h (315 mph). To change gears manually, the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel or the newly designed manual selector lever on the center console can be used.
Equipment and price in Ecuador
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS will be priced according to the features that each user wishes to add. Fans and customers who wish to customize it can do so in the Car Configurator.

Our test drive with the 718 Cayman GT4 started from downtown Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with heavy traffic. From that point we took the road to the highway to head to La Romana, a 162-kilometer drive.
The driving experience was incredible, with optimal performance and with the feeling that the vehicle was always going to surprise us with its power.
