Government offers egg cartons for sale at 100 pesos

The Government ordered the sale of egg cartons of 30 units at 100 pesos this Thursday, November 2, 2023, in 76 supermarkets nationwide.

The sales will be made through the program “Aliméntate con el Inespre en el Supermercado” and will be available at Jumbo, Nacional, Plaza Lama, Carrefour, Garrido and Olé stores.

The eggs marketed are from producers in Dajabón and other provinces in the border area and the Cibao region, which were affected by the closure of the border with Haiti.

Likewise, Inespre continues every Thursday the commercialization of food combos at 1,000 pesos, with 10 pounds of select rice, 800 grams of pinto beans, 16 ounce oil, five pounds of sugar, 1.5 pound salami, two 400 gram packages of spaghetti, one liter of milk, 16 ounce tomato paste, two 125 gram units of sardines, 10 chocolate bars and a 600 gram package of oatmeal, in participating supermarkets.

Iván Hernández Guzmán, director of the institution, informed that the sale of eggs at 100 pesos in supermarkets began this Thursday as a pilot plan and could be extended for several weeks, depending on the level of acceptance and the guidelines of the Presidency of the Republic.

The program “Aliméntate con el Inespre en el Supermercado” (Feed yourself with Inespre at the Supermarket) offers the citizens another alternative to acquire products of the family basket at low cost every Thursday, thanks to a team work of the Dominican Government and the private sector.

This is in addition to the daily programs of mobile warehouses, farmers’ markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and special fairs, whose sales points are published daily on social networks @inesprerd and on the institutional page inespre.gob.do.
