The festival will stage the world’s leading bachata dancers and exponents of the genre for the enjoyment of national and international tourists.
The ADN Bachata World Festival, the first festival of this type of music, will be held in Puerto Plata from November 17 to 20 with events at the Senator Hotel and at the amphitheater where Mayimbe Anthony Santos will perform.
Details of the event were provided by the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourist Enterprises of the North (ASHONORTE) and ADN Films.

The announcement at a press conference was attended by the authorities of the province, headed by the governor Claritza Rochtte de Senior, the mayor Roque Garcia (Roquelito), the administrator of the cable car Atahualpa Paulino and the pioneer of bachata José Manuel Calderon, among other personalities.
“The realization of the first international bachata festival in the Dominican Republic is an achievement of the union of ASHONORTE and ADN Films, where all of us from Puerto Plata assumed with great will and determination the incorporation of our proposal of musical festivals as a new ally to promote the destination of Puerto Plata in every corner of the world where bachata is a musical reality,” said Carlos Rodolí.
The Isabel de Torres mountain was the stage chosen for the launching of this project; which included the musical presentation of the bachata school of Cabarete formed by children of the community, as well as the participation of the dance couple composed of a Swedish and a Dominican, Luis Miguel Ortiz and Marcela Cárdenas (Los bonitillos).
